So looks like another myth about the reprints has been dragged out and justly shot in the head.

Any other complaints, anyone? They're a millimeter too thick, thin, tall or short? The paper has the wrong mood? Do the books cast a shadow at the wrong angle? Are they too diffident?
The Feng Shui of these books is completely OFF, they give off bad vibes, I wish they had never been printed!!!!!

The Players Handbook is already sold out on Amazon. It looks like this will be the most sought after book in the trilogy.

I hope some are still in the pipeline when all of this bleeding of money is over, because I'd like to have them.
In the same boat, bills worse than normal. I'm hoping by Christmas they are still out, and I have the cash, so I can justify the purchase. I want.

I haven't seen my set yet (I won't until our next game in early August). My friend that picked them up was astounded by the number of sets already accounted for stacked on a designated shelf at Games Plus. He picked up my set and bought one for himself too. A couple of other guys in our group mentioned they're going to buy some, too. Just counting the two sets already purchased, that's more $ spent on new official D&D product by our group in a single day than in the past twenty years...

Having just RECENTLY bought the hardback 1e rulebooks- more of them than I'd probably ever really use (hi UA), I will probably only pick these up if I had a minor (or major, I ain't picky) windfall in the future- assuming they're available.

I am very glad WotC got these out, but I also hope more of them go to people who don't have the original books. Now, granted, I bet most people getting them already actually DO have the 1e books and want to support the Gygax fund or just want to tell WotC "DO MORE OF THIS," but I like to think at least one stray soul will find his or her way into the fold this way.

Now if they put out, say, a perfect bound softcover that collected the three books of the original D&D set... or even, gulp, a reproduction of the original box set... oh my, I can hardly contain the vapors!

I knew you hated Gary Gygax.

This is the opposite of what I've heard. I went to one store yesterday (a different one than the one I bought my books from), they had a much bigger display, but it was at the back of the show room.. I asked the pimply face clerk how these books were selling. He said, "oh really good-- better that I ever expected." I looked at the rack. There were still about 5 copies of the PHB, and an unevenly matched number of the other books. Not sure which one was selling best-- maybe the DMG.

I started telling pimple face that it might be cool to put the "Advanced Adventures" near the 1e books as they were are essential the same system. He started to get what I was telling him when a big guy cam e from the back, hlf heard what we were talking about, and then started scolding pimple face about the DCC adventures not being on the same shelf with the recentg release of the DCC rulebooks. I kind of lost interest in the whole thing and left at that point. I had a session of "Vampire Queen" to run at the hobby shop up the road, so I left.

My local store has sold more sets (not copies, but sets of three) than any 4e book in his store except for the main rulebook.

I'm very interested to know how well these do in Australia. The old school scene is like three guys.

I will be happy if I am wrong. It may just be the area I live in. I am around 40 miles south of the WotC offices.

One of my friends says this is a bad area for old school gaming, as in there isn't as much interest in it here as in other areas.

As far as I know, I am the only person in my area that runs a regular AD&D/OSRIC game.

Apparently there is no version of D&D Clang doesn't prefer the clone for! :P

With the AD&D reprints, that may change. :D

These are still appearing as "not released yet" on Amazon.co.jp, probably going to keep humming and hawing in the meantime.
