I can't really fault any of the Beatles movies, though I think A Hard Days Night is definitely the best.

Edit: Err...Beatles TV movie?

The first two albums I remember buying were

Beatles, Sgt Pepper (in 1976 or so)

and

Steely Dan, the Royal Scam (about the same time), mostly because my friend Steve's older sister thought they were cool.

When I got my first cassette deck a year or two later, my aunt bought me a bunch of tapes. Ready for some yuks? I'm putting on my crash helmet for the (deserved) mocking...
Starship, Earth
Wings, London Town
Stevie Wonder, Songs in the key of Life

Even then I wondered about these choices ...

Songs in the Key of Life is actually a really good record.

I've read it's a classic. Must listen...Definitely liked, as a kid, hearing "I just called to say I love you". Gave me a warm feeling and actually still does(and not in a dirty way).

The most famous song from SitKoL. It's pretty much impossible to listen to this without smiling and wanting to dance :) :

As a kid I taped over my sisters Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet with 2 Live Crew and Eazy-E.

It was a cunning plan that was cruelly foiled by my father's desire to hear "Living on a Prayer".

Funny thing is, when I was brainstorming names for my small press outfit, and I came up with North Wind Adventures, the first thing that popped in my head was N.W.A. Then, thought I, who from my target audience has even heard of N.W.A.? Well, fool be me! Badass indeed, but pale as compared to the Ghetto Boys.

Anyway, aside from my 5 yr old self (1976) owning Disco Duck, by 1980 it was Back in Black on record album, and in 1981 Fair Warning on cassette. Somewhere in there I had KISS Alive on 8-track. Yes, I had 8-tracks. ;)

I had Kiss' Dressed to Kill and Rush's A Farewell to Kings on 8-track.

Long Rush songs + track change = suckage.

Indeed! Note: NSFW, but still probably the closest to SFW of anything the Geto Boys ever recorded:
