Did the Field Museum in Chicago today and finally got to see Sue, something I've wanted to do for years! One happy Wheggi here.
While there I had some Tooth & Claw Lager. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic, but the bottle was pretty awesome, and I found it online, so here it is. I'll need to go back down and grab some for the casa:

Mrs. TRP was in Lexington last month on a binness trip, and she had some at a restaurant along with the unfortunately named dish "hot and brown". She *really* liked the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Abita here has something similar (and it's good), but she said what she had in Lexington was much better.francisca wrote:I weep* for those of you who can't purchase Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale locally.
It's damn expensive beer, more than I'd ever thought I'd pay, at $13.99+tax for a 4-pack, but holy crap is it good. Definitely a "gonna have one, and enjoy it" type of thing.

I'll try to bring a 4-pack to GaryCon.

While I was working in Kentucky I had a fair share of KBBA, both the regular and stouts. It's pretty good, but overpriced. For roughly the same price, I would much rather have something from Ballast Point.

So, at our local beer club bar, I hit 325 different beers last night and now qualify for a Phd from their brewniversity. You can call me Dr. Chainsaw now.

And I am currently at 317, still at my Masters.
Hey, wait. Maybe I should stay there, as of right now you are the "Doctor" and I am the "Master"!

For Pete's Sake, the Imperial version (9%) of my favorite chocolate peanut butter porter, Sweet Baby Jesus (6.5%). Very good, same as SBJ except more potent. Win win.

Founder's beer (including the famous Breakfast Stout) is now available for purchase in LA. I'm going out to buy some this afternoon (assuming everyplace isn't already sold out).
