I could write a lot of made-up psychobabble about why he's wrong, but really, I'm just here to kill things and take their stuff. If they weren't meant to be killed they wouldn't have so much great stuff.

Sounds sort of like someone else's character, in a game somewhere a long, long time ago, kicked this guy's character's ASS and took HIS stuff, and this limp-dick muther-fucker has never gotten past that one minor indignity.

Miserable person is miserable playing D&D.

At the risk of earning total hatred here, I actually do wonder about the implicit messages of S&S/fantasy/horror, and D&D by extension. Where I differ with this guy is I think it's possible to play the genre to a tee and still have an open critique of the implicit messages. I also think intelligent old school play tends to move away from mindless slaughter and "genocide" anyway, while still maintaining lots of action.

mjudge55: No-one would say that you couldn’t or shouldn’t think about moral issues that may arise through D&D gameplay. The insanity here is lies in comparing imaginary evil monsters with real-world victims of genocide.
