Mostly stuff around the house: we picked out some more paint to continue our freshening up of the house; I rigged up a sail shade over the patio (considering whether to put up a roof over the patio); and we had a handyman cut a pair of cabinets so the new, modern fridge that we've got coming next Friday will fit.

I did carve out some free time today to peruse my copies of In the Shadow of the City-God and Trail of the Sea Demon as well as finally start some mapping I've been meaning to get around to but never have. Going to finish off the weekend by grilling some pork chops this evening.

I"m cooking up bacon, pancakes, and some honeydew melon for breakfast, and will be DMing at noon today.

Also planning some time to read more of Gabor's books, and to continue editing on Anthony Huso's newest book, _Dream House of the Nether Prince_---a 14th+ level descent into one of Orcus' lairs in the Abyss.

Allan.

That sounds promising!

Some good info (chronologically from early to current) at https://www.thebluebard.com/post/dreams-of-darkness and https://www.thebluebard.com/post/what-d ... nk-of-this and https://www.thebluebard.com/post/dreams-of-darkness

The latter has a nice preview of the maps and adventure details; here's one of them:

and probably my favorite piece of art in the book thus far:

Very cool Grodog!

Am taking advantage of two days of no rain and getting some badly needed exterior painting done.

Played "Bang!" last night.

Going to grill kalbi ribs today if I can find a window between rain bands this afternoon. (If not, maybe have to settle for cooking them inside...)

I’m finishing up a second High Elf chariot mini and otherwise planning on maintaining a low energy output today!

My weekend began when I left work today. Normally I get Mondays and Tuesdays off. My group will be playing tomorrow night. We are still playing through Dwellers of the Forbidden City. The group has fought their way through the tunnels to the main entrance (where the Aboleth is) and have just begun exploring. The killed off some Bullywugs and are still exploring their fortress.

I plan to do some extensive cleanup around the house as I have relatives coming up from Houston in three weeks when I am on vacation again. My grass seems to have stopped growing this summer but I probably need to mow anyway because it looks a little ragged. I have three acres along a river so parts of it down by the river tend to be much higher than the rest.

I am hoping to have Dwellers finished by the time my relatives come up because my sister will want to play with us and I plan to run Ravenloft which I know she will love. She has always been into the Gothic Horror type of thing so it would be right up her alley.

Have a meeting next weekend so my buddies and I tried to move the game I’m DMing to this weekend. Virtual graduations put a stop to that idea. Now we won’t play until the Saturday after next. I’ll have to dry my no-dice-rolling tears in birthday Guinness.

Guinness solves many a problem!

Ran a real D&D game last night. 8 people around a table. (No freking masks.)

That's too bad. You should embrace the mask, like I have.

I figure, if they're going to make me wear a mask, I'm going to make them regret it.

Most places I go now, there are people who bust out laughing. I mean, I thought it was mildly amusing, but I wasn't expecting this kind of response.

I have been stopped several times by people wanting to take my picture, and one person even came up and took a selfie with me. I have been told I'm their hero. One grandma came up to me and told me her grand-kids were greatly entertained.

One upper middle-aged lady was laughing so hard, her face turned red. I looked again a minute later, and she was still shaking. I thought no one laughs that long, she must've just got a phone call that a family member has died. I looked again and that was when I realized no, she was still laughing at me. She totally lost it.

I think it might be because people are under soooo much stress right now, and then someone like me walks into the room. I guess they can't believe a grown man goes out in public like that.

I have overheard a few passive aggressive snipes, and I did get thrown out of one store, even though the guy couldn't articulate what exactly was wrong with what I call my "freedom burqa."

If the mask mandate is ever lifted, a small part of me will miss it.

I didn't do a damn thing all day Saturday.

I think I'd better get a couple things crossed off the "Honey Do" list tomorrow, though...

It does! Causes a few too. :)
Made me wish I had a cigar - especially after seeing your post - though I know you prefer the Longbottom leaf. ;)
