Foundation was too un-level, so the wife and I put up a retaining wall around it and filled it with rocks. If the weather is nice next weekend, we will finally put the shed together. Also working on some web based applications for my bachelors degree.
Just finished up a American Popular Music course. I think of Luke when he said, "This is not going to go the way you think". It was a little too...involved than I thought it would be, but I needed the art credit. When we hit the late 60's, it was much easier at that point...but when we passed the 90's...I just wan't into it anymore. I am no fan of T-Swift. I did my term paper on Boston's - More than a Feeling.

My wife had her MBA graduation today. Ceremonies, receptions and parties. Then the whole family ran a mile together.

Congrats to rogatny's wife!
Last weekend we attended an induction ceremony for Beta Gamma Sigma and my wife and I went on a date afterwards. Yay for a sitter willing to watch all our kids for several hours.
This week and weekend we've been fixing the door and front entryway to our house: remove the rotted wood and replace with good wood, patch, sand, caulk, paint, etc. The sill plate had completely disintegrated and needed to be replaced. I had to hand plane a nominal 2x8 to fit since I really needed stock closer to 5/4x8. But the sill is in place, as is the new framing trim. So it's door repairs now followed by painting everything correctly (unlike the previous owners).

Went trail riding today. Currently grilling marinated chicken thighs and drinking beer (got a couple small growlers: Rahr & Sons "Paleta de Mango" and Brouwerij Van Steenberge "Celis White").
Going for another ride, tomorrow, but taking some of my kids, so it'll be an easy ride (no singletrack or anything like that).

Built a shed. Now my wife and I are relaxing and watching the 100 on the CW.

Bicycle ride with the kids along Spring Creek Greenway. Unfortunately, my eldest daughter had a crash. She was fine (just some scrapes), but it was kind of a bummer.

Ouch! That is a shame. Never mind, at least she came away relatively unscathed.
Last weekend I had to work on Saturday, so we decided to postpone Mother's Day celebrations until the weekend just gone. It also turned out that Toys R Us were having a "buy two get one free" sale on Lego and the like, so we took a drive up there before heading on to a speciality cured pork/beef restaurant called "Da Butcher". My wife is a big fan of continental cuisine and we had been there before, so we knew it was good. In the evening my son managed to build one of the Lego Star Wars "microfighters" we bought, and with very little help from me, which was quite impressive.

Yeah, I was relieved that it wasn't serious. We were moving at a good clip, at the time. It did emphasize the importance of a helmet, though. (She didn't bump her head, but just the fact of the crash was enough to drive home the point.) No real damage to the bike, either, although she did throw her chain and needed my assistance with that.

Very cool! Sounds like you had a nice time. Looks like that restaurant is in Atsugi. I've been to some places around there (because of the Naval Air base), but can't say I remember that one. (Of course, it's been years since I was there...)

I've convinced Francisca and his horde to help my move the last few heavy items (lathe and table saw) from our old house to the new house.
The rest of the weekend will be consumed with moving the less imposing items that are left.

There's a place less than an hour from where I live where they let you drive tanks and fire off live rounds. It's crazy expensive though. For my favorite tank (the Russian T-34) it's $3,500 to drive it and shoot a single round at something.
At least, perhaps because this is Texas, beer and other adult beverages are free. I mean nothing goes together better than live firing tanks + booze, right?

I listened to my players agonize and argue on what to do next after a near TPK (with one PC KIA and one down to zero HP), while stuck in a dungeon within which they have completely alerted everyone and stirred up all sorts of resistance.
