Playing Ars Magica on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully continuing my office cleaning/reorganization, and painting some minis (I have two that I want to complete for NTX at least).
Chris: what kind of jobs are you looking for, and are you on LinkedIn?
Allan.

Allan, I am on LinkedIn. I've been doing IT (primarily HL7 & EDI healthcare integration), the last few years and Finance (corporate FP&A) before that. Just finished my MBA. I have both technical & managerial experience.

Doh, we're already connected

If you see anything in my connections that looks promising as a lead to check out, let me know and I'll see if I can get you in the back door!
Allan.

Greatly appreciated, sir! I'll holler if I see anything that looks appealing.

Got back from the bike ride in WG Jones State Forest. It was nice. Lots of bridle path and fire roads through the woods, but also a few singletracks. Wasn't very busy: a few people riding horses, a few couples walking, and a few other mountain bikers. It rained on Friday, so it was a bit muddy and wet (some sections of standing water) in low areas. Rode for about two hours, then went and devoured some brisket, jalepeno sausage, and Shiner Bock at Rudy's BBQ.
I was too busy riding to take any pics during the ride. But here's a post-ride shot of the evidence on my bike.
Going to shower, then go pick up a growler of beer and some charcoal. Kalbi is marinating in the fridge, so after that I'll just relax until it's time to grill. Maybe play some guitar.
Damn good day, so far!

Cut grass, set the foundation for a shed, did some laundry, helped my wife move a really big rock, pissed off a couple of people at Dragonsfoot, saw Avengers, and watched the movie Hangman with Al Pacino and Karl Urban.

Rearranged furniture and got rid of crap. Still more to do but finally making progress.

That's like daily for you, no?

Only the last couple of days. One was deserved as it was a joke going too far. The other was an obvious sarcastic joke but the other guy had some type of PTSD about it because a sarcastic comment killed his father or something.
Anyway, we had some really heavy rain the last couple of days so the grass is just shooting up. The neighbor, who is OCD with his yard, has been out of town this weekend. I said to my wife, this must be eating Todd up knowing that his grass is uncut and all of the other neighbors were home all weekend cutting theirs. Hell probably come home in a couple of hours and just right on that rider with a beer.

Packing for my 30th wedding anniversary trip to Italy! Never been to Europe. We have 17 days starting May 17; starting in Rome, going south to the Amalfi Coast, north to Cinque Terra, then east to Venice.

Didn't do much Saturday. Did some cleaning in the garage (it's like one of the labors of Heracles), changed the inner tube on my bike's rear tire (had a slow leak) and adjusted my front brakes.
My wife requested donuts and kolaches for a mothers day breakfast, so I took care of that this morning. Then I went for a ride on Spring Creek Greenway.
Fifteen mile ride (which is the longest I've done since getting back on the bicycle), followed by a cooldown that ended with a big ass bowl of shrimp phở. (Tasty!)
I'm due for a shower, now... This afternoon I'm just going to relax and have a few beers. This evening it's dinner (which will either be steak at Outback or crawfish at Blue Water Seafood -- the jury is still out on that one).

Sounds great! I caught up on some work at the office this morning and we’re planning on some heading to a spot called Leroy Fox for wings later this evening for Mother’s Day. Mrs. Chainsaw’s sleeping on the couch at the moment.

Had a fun family lunch with Heather' extended family to celebrate Mother's Day (the boys and I gave Heather her 3 wishlist movies: Dead Again, Flatliners, and Shakespeare In Love), and we'll either play some games or hang out and relax this afternoon/evening. Nothing major planned, which is nice after the past week+ of surgeries with complications, broken ankles, and car crashes (all in other familys in the extended group, but still stressful for all of us).
Allan.
