I "won" (BIN) a WG4 on ebay from trollandtoadstore on ebay on 12/23/10. A couple of days ago, I received a refund for the amount, and the reason given was that the item was not in stock. Guess what?

Do they really have it? Who knows? They CLAIM to have 3 in stock. Really? They received these 3 in just the past day? Their prices aren't great, but the module was listed as VF, so I bit cause I would like to have a "nice" copy to go with my raggedy one.

Lousiest ebay seller I've ever encountered.

Let's just say they have a "reputation"...

I have dealt with this store on more then one occassion. I am going to visit them in Kentucky when I head out to the cons this spring and summer.

I never had a problem with them and I bought about 3 dozen products from them. This is certainly not how they dealt with me.

Sorry, Falconer, but I don't get the reference.

I should have known that. I have the DVDs. Is that the ep where Mal and Wash get tortured, or from the train robbery?

When you see them, tell them it's very uncool to list items on which they cannot, or will not, deliver.

Well, aren't you just the special snowflake.

Yep, "War Stories". Mal and Wash get tortured by Niska (pictured) looking for the "real" them. Niska was very concerned about "reputation", hence Falconer's reference.

I will call them and ask what the problem is actually. I am not a fan of such crap to be honest with you.

But they are like EBAY, some people have had problems with EBAY, some have not. Maybe it was an honest mistake.

Troll & Toad has a pretty sketchy reputation - there is a lot of discussion about them on the Acaeum. They definitely do a lot of legitimate business, which gives rise to many "they were okay with me" types of posts, but they seem to have more mistakes and problems than NobleKnight, judging from the Acaeum. People there are wary of doing business with T&T. On the other hand, to be fair, NK has a reputation for pricing things a bit higher than (whatever the Acaeum considers normal, but since they're predominantly collectors talking about collecting, whatever standard they use to talk amongst themselves is presumably pretty accurate).

This particular problem sounds veerrrry suspicious to me.

There is some truth to what you say but as a person who spends lots of money on things via the internet, I tend to follow my heart and respect the fact that some internet stores just have bad days. I usually keep my reservations when i deal with specific people on Ebay who cliam one thing but totally the opposite when the product is received. It happens and until T&T screws me over because of just outright stupidity, I will continue to utilize their store.

This is actually very good to know. I'm still a relative noob to ebay, and I don't know which and who to trust. But ebay backs up sales made through them don't they? I've bid on stuff several times, but always seem to get outbid at the last minute. People must babysit their bids obsessively. I let it ride until a I get an email or something, or I'll check in once a day. I tend to buy most of my used stuff through Amazon/Alibris, etc. Good to know about this seller though -- thanks
