And, this movie looks excellent too. Good stuff.

Yeah I chanced upon Fantastic Planet several years ago on late night television - TOTALLY HOOKED. "Domesticated Om" entered our household vernacular.

Stalk-Forrest Group
What Is Quicksand?
(pre-Blue Oyster Cult) Lots of pre-BOC songs to be found here.

The dialogue in the comments between Andy Winters and Albert Bouchard is pretty funny.

I don't see those comments.

Inviernos48 = Andy
altbouch = Albert
Of course, they could be just a couple of impostors.

Nope. Didn't see any of those comments at all!

How weird...

Bizarre.
Hey kids, That's me playing bass on this track. We were originally the Soft White Underbelly but for some reason, some doofus released this as the Stalk Forrest Group, a name we used for about fifteen minutes. Sure is nice to hear this thing after all these years. I am the cat on the left in the first picture. Andrew

so why did you end up leaving SWU?
nastyjonah in reply to Inviernos48 1 year ago
Basically, Albert wanted his brother in the band so he staged an elaborate coup d'etat to get Joe in and me out. It was a nasty thing to do and he paid for it when the same thing happened to him at the height of BOC's fame and fortune during a tour in England. That's the story I heard, anyway. This has been documented in various places on the web. Now the brothers have kissed and made up, apparently.

Too bad about Andy's comments about the BOC history part. He's leaving out all the f**ed up sh*t he did to get himself canned. At least I'm man enough to admit my mistakes. BTW Joe wasn't my 1st choice but it worked out better anyway.

I've spent 41 years reading about all the "fucked up shit" I did to get myself canned. It's easy to tell a pack of likes when the person you are talking about isn't there to defend himself. The liner notes that came with the Rhino CD are full of lies about me, too. Nowhere has anyone acknowledged my role in starting the thing in the first place. It was Joe Dick and me backing up David Roter on his songs in Setauket. Don came along and we had a jam session Pearlman heard - that was SWU.

Such bitterness....I didn't say anything nasty about Albert so I wonder why he is so hostile toward me here after 40 plus years. It was a nasty surprise to find myself a has-been at age 22. BTW, I have told several people that I admired Albert for being the only one "man enough" to call to tell me when Rhino released our album after so many years. From the other guys, not a word. So I am sending out this message in a public forum: peace already, the years are going by and we are all adults now.

Yes, peace Andy, but don't ever repeat the lie that I wanted Joe in the band and that's why you were out. It's just not true. OK. I love my brother but he just did it as a favor because we needed a bass player. He doesn't even really play bass! He would have rather played piano, which he is still great at incidentally. Roter knew! I've always been fond of you, Andrew, and I think you were an awesome bass player. But we were maturing at different rates and we needed to do something.
