Nope, Frost* as well. Second album. Not quite as organic (lots of production and 'wall of sound') but really really good as well.

I dunno if this counts as "prog rock".

Pink Floyd is always appropriate.

Okay, it's Big Prog saturday morning, and it doesn't get much bigger than this. When you think Frost*, you've gotta think "Milliontown", and here it is in it's entire almost half hour long glory. Totally ignore the lame ass anime picture that is the space holder on the video: just throw it on a back browser and enjoy the proggy awesomeness that is Frost*.

As I understand it, "Miliontown" is supposedly about zombies. Go figure.

EDIT: and aw hell, why not? Here's the last thing Frost* did. I love this as well, though you will definately be able to hear the difference in sound (much more bombastic). Welcome to The Dividing Line . . .

If you've never heard the entire recording, then here it is ... the entire ball of wax.

Just like "then", you'll have to provide your own visuals.

My suggestion is to put on the headphones, light one up or pour one out, recline in a nice comfortable chair, close your eyes and commence the journey.

Now, if you've got MTV-level attention span, and need to hit the obvious rock portion, then after reminiscing to the first few minutes, just skip ahead to about the 43:00 minute mark. HOWEVER, you will miss some very cool shit along the way. The last 13 minutes are the reward for exploring all of the levels and sub-levels. Like a good mega-dungeon, this puppy ranges all over the place.

Chill, close your eyes and enjoy the hour-long ride through the corners of you mind.

In my head, this is the holy grail of space=music/prog rock, though admittedly, this kind of stuff could be considered an acquired taste.

Heh, Thick as a Brick is one of my favorite songs. Not any of the freakin' edits, The Thick as a Brick. I have a feeling I'll like your link TRP.

Was going to post this in the Heavy Metal dal thread, because it's being locked, but it feels better here:

"The flute is a heavy metal instrument!"
And they won the "Hard Rock/Metal" Grammy with this album.
And since the thread is being locked:

My apologies ahead of time to you Tony because I'm thinking this is more jazzy than proggy, but it's Mick Abrams first band after he left Jethro Tull, Blodwyn Pig. (PS: Did you hear the "break up" news - Martin Barre leaving, man that would suck.)
