At the risk of being branded a heretic, I'd say that book you already have contains almost all of the best stories (the one really Grade A one that's missing is "Beyond the Black River") and unless you want to be a completist there's not much need to read all the rest (most of which are very repetitive and formulaic). But if you do want to read all of them, yeah, those in-print Del Rey collections Geoffrey mentioned are the way to go.

Hmm.. maybe I have what I really need. I think I might just keep cruising the half-price book store to fill out my Conan paerback set. I love those old paperbacks. I think my very first one was a Flash Gordon I picked up at a flea market for like $3 at age 7-8. Anyway, here's what's in the books below:

Depends on the editor. Anything with LeCamp on is suspicious, as he happily altered the text. The books mentioned above contain the unaltered originals, and did so for the first time when they were published. The Momoa cover might be like that, hard to know for sure.

Just finished The Brave Free Men by Lord Vance, starting Mythago Wood.

Of that Lancer/Ace de Camp-edited series, the holes to fill in are #2 (Conan the Cimmerian) which includes "The Frost Giant's Daughter," #4 (Conan the Buccaneer (?)) which includes "The Devil in Iron," and #7 (Conan the Warrior) which includes "Beyond the Black River." Numbers 6 & 10+ are "new" stories by de Camp & Lin Carter that don't contain any Howard and can/should be disregarded entirely. Also note that Hour of the Dragon and Conan the Conqueror are the same story -- de Camp renamed it to the latter. If you do end up completing and reading this set, I'd advise just skipping past any story that's written by de Camp &/or Carter or written by "Howard & de Camp" (which means the latter either took either an incomplete manuscript and completed it or a non-Conan (and usually non-fantasy) story and "modified" it -- the latter stories are especially odious and disrespectful).

I was less of a purist until I actually read the Del Rey versions. Very lovely books, good art, very respectful of the author (presented in order written, unedited, with incomplete stories put in the appendix).

Yes, I've watched the first three DVDs. (I wish they were available on Netflix streaming instead of DVD-only.) I thought those were good, but the books are even better.

Naturally. They aired on PBS for a while. I didn't see them all but they were definitely watchable.

I put Willa Cather's Shadows on the Rock aside so I could finish Harold Lamb's Wolf of the Steppes; after I finish these two it's on to Mr Lamb's Warrior of the Steppes, the second volume of Khlit the Cossack stories.

If you're looking for fantastic adventure in an exotic setting, Mr Lamb's stories are hard to beat.
