Star Trek has the gorn and they can't figure out how to douchebag that one over into geeksville. They have with most everything else though!
Somebody was telling me that klingons had a disease in the original show and was like get the fuck outta here those ain't my klingons! My klingons are in a mirror universe that has no geek revisions!

A little help here. I think I know most of these acronyms.
TOS: The Original Series
TAS: The Animated Series
ST V: Star Trek, Voyager
TNG: The Next Generation
But what the hell is BSG-GINO? My sci-fi geek-fu is weak . . .

BSG == Battlestar Galactica
GINO == Galactica In Name Only
Just to be a
little bit of a jerk about this, but in consideration of any discussion regarding the new ST movie and BSG-GINO, what do ya'll think of
West Side Story?

That new Galactica/Caprica stuff with the cheapy "these cylons look human" and geeky "super soft people doing tough stuff" etc.
EDIT: SORRY beat me to the punch

What? The 1980 Broadway revival with Prince Colwyn of Krull as Tony?
YEAH!
Sorry... I'll come in again...

I can't do that girly scream like Walter Koenig does.
Well ... he did make quite a nice change as Alfred Bester on B5 compared with Pavel Checkov on ST:TOS.

Is this a slip, or did B5 actually have a character named directly after the author of
The Stars, My Destination (one of the all-time great sf classics and very highly recommended to anyone who hasn't read it)?

No lie, Mr. T. I thought it was a nice nod to the author. I second this, if you have not read "The Stars, My Destination", run don't walk.

Don't feel too bad. At least Rodenberry only went bonkers at the end of his life. Lucas started going down hill when he had the Rebels having to enlist the help of furry Stone Aged midgets to defeat an entire Legion of Stormtroopers. Then he gave us Jar-Jar Binks and Manequin Skywalker.

Associated Press - A Big Hole In The Ground - The town of Riverside, Iowa was instantly vaporized this afternoon shortly after an oddly-shaped vehicle materialized from nowhere in the sky above the central business district [of Riverside, IA]. Eyewitness accounts described the object, and an odd announcement emanating from the vehicle. See accompanying image.

The animation was borderline awful (looks simple but fair as stills), the stories were often good , the voices were right on the mark. It also introduced lot's of cool stuff like Caitans, Edoans & Kzinti (straight from Larry Niven's own typewriter)/
