RPG or board game conventions in Texas?

You can talk about "almost" anything here.

That's what I have in mind, even if it isn't an official event. I don't know how conventions work...this would be my first.

But there's a non-gaming event in Sugar Land the week before that I'm also looking to attend. I can choose one. So if I choose the convention, it'll be with the expectation of meeting some of you guys and, hopefully, playing some real D&D.

Mine too, no big deal.

I've emailed Mythmere, Philotomy and Northrundicandus to see what their plans are.
If theres enough interest, I'm sure we can set something up.

I'd have to pass on OwlCon this time. I'll be busy with a newborn come February. This will be son #2!

If I was to take a trip down to Texas, I would visit a small town that is bellow most folks radar to visit a a small museum most folks have never herd of. It may not be the Alamo, but its just as good!

February is a popular month for births. On average, more people are born each day in February than in any other month. That's a statistical fact that I just made up; now I'm going to go enter it into Wikipedia, and then we'll all have to accept it to be true! 8)

For what it is worth ...

http://www.chimaeracon.com/

Only reason I know about it is because a couple of friends have asked me to come in the past, but I didn't have the time.

Looks like the North TX RPG Con has somehow not been mentioned here, which is odd, given the number of folks in TX on the board :D

It's a small gathering of folks originally from the Acaeum but broadened out to include other old-school friendly sites as well. Check it out @ http://ntrpgcon.com/

Sieg told me about one he went to in Texas that was really jumpin'. Sounded like great fun.

Just a little friendly info...

According to their own statements on DF, both Frank Mentzer and Tim Kask will be at the North TX RPG Con this year.

Tim in particular is currently writing a new module that he will be DM'ing there.

I'll be at NTRPGCon since it's taking place about 10 minutes from my house. :D

:D Allan's too modest to make mention of it, but he's also attending NTRPG Con in June. And so am I.

We don't 'fit' in the same category as the above noted VIPs (Frank, Tim, Rob, and Paul Jaquays), but I'm running a game or two for the NT con and Allan may be running some Castle Gro-hawk!
