RPG or board game conventions in Texas?
Greetings. Other than ReaperCon and ProtoCon, what other gaming conventions can I find in Texas? Some friends of mine are moving down that way, so instead of GenCon this year, I thought we could attend a more local show.
Anything?
Thanks,
L

ReaperCon is Reaper Miniatures' open house. If you're in to minis (glares at Lance) it's a fine fine con to visit. If for no other reason than the reaper-con only goodies!Flambeaux wrote:I live in Texas, and I've never heard of ReaperCon or ProtoCon.
I also can't help with any other cons.
But I'd love to learn more.
Not sure about proto-con.
Lance, Sieg lives in TX he might be able to help. You could PM him on my board (I...think? he has an account here too...)

Huh. I assumed that Texas would have one of the larger conventions. I mean, it is Texas, after all.
Protocon is based in College Station.

I would love to attend ReaperCon. My brother lives about an hour away from Reaper HQ. But alas, I have to be in Kansas that weekend. Kansas. Ugh. (Sorry, Grodog.

AggieCon was a few weeks ago:

A few of my Call of Cthulhu players went, but I've yet to hear how it was.
My whole CoC group went to this year's OwlCon, but evidently some of the games were pretty lame; one of my players has been putting together a "Sucky DM List" so we know who to avoid for next year. I hope to actually run an event next year. Hope I can stay off that "Sucky DM List."

Resurrect Thread!
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd ask in this one:
Who is planning on going to OwlCon 2009? I'm considering the drive down, but I might have some conflicts. It is the first weekend in February.
I didn't seen any interesting games on the current list, mostly 3.5 or 4e stuff.
Anyone else interested in an Alehouse meetup of some kind that weekend?
