Seems to work fine in a virtual machine. I'm trained by the master (and I look sorta like Vlad the Impaler)!

With jousting, I've had some real success with turning my horse by galloping away, stopping and turning simultaneously and the starting a charge towards my enemy, makes for tight turns and good control of the horse.

Qnyone gave any other tips?

Also, issuing commands to not have my foot wade across a river to attack a line of bowmen, but instead to withdraw to force the bowmen into the water after us...of course I just learned how to issue commands, this itself has made me a much better commander....

To report, Warband now works flawlessly in wine. The mouse bugs have all been fixed.

Cool. I just used CCleaner on the desktop at home and that seems to have solved the mysterious crashing issues I was having (as well as massive slow down issues in general use).

I figured I should mention this mod for Mount and Blade fans.

Interestingly enough, they've avoiding using the movies as inspiration and use the books alone for it.
