Blizzard Software should thank them.

It's funny how they try to show an increase in complexity from 1e to 2e to 3e.

I've always felt that 2e was a MAJOR simplification of 1e...at least in many respects, especially with the gutting of the DMG. But, it paints a nice picture for their sales pitch.

Me. I see the future of Dungeons and Dragons, and there can be no going back . . . only 4ward!

Next year Foster, lets do 4dventure. C'mon, bring your laptop over to the house, and I'll have the router set up, then we can PBMB . . . in the same room! 4wesome! It will be just like D&D, but without all that irritating face to face interaction (or is it more like playing online without the isolation? I'm not sure yet, but its gonna be good! That's what they're telling me!)

I've got dibs on the Teefling fighter w/spells! W00T!

"Dungeons & Dragons would not be the game it is without evolution and refinement."

So I finally know who to blame for the $#!+ that's been spewing forth for the last couple decades... evolution and refinement. I'll punch 'em in the nose next time I see them.

It's a pity they're not using a Star Trek definition of evolution, 'cause then there'd at least be an intelligent designer behind it.

Not once you add on all the extra supplements and stuff, though the writing style and editing was arguably simpler.

Am I wrong, or are they suggesting "4dventure" should be pronounced "Adventure," with the 4 representing a capital A?

'Cause, gee, nerds need to feel l33t, right?

I want to hear what you did in the dungeon, not the voting booth. Politics and rules minutia both bore me in my opinion.

So now Fighters get magic and low-level characters can whack trolls like a whack-a-mole game? Huh... Hopefully it won't be as bad as the video makes them out to be. My hopes are not high though.

On a positive note, I definately like the book covers a lot better than the revised covers for 1e, either cover of 2e or 3e! I will look at the covers in real life when I see one to see if my opinion holds true, once they come out.

Playtesters for the new devolution will be tapped from RPGA and D&D Insider subscribers.

Drink the Kool Aid first, then you can playtest the system. After all, why would a game designer want an opinion from an outside of the loop perspective?
