The RPG action in 2005 was great but I found the selection in 2006 to be a bit thin for my taste. I've decided to run two sessions of AD&D this year after a two year hiatus so that old schoolers and curious newbies can get in on the fun.
Sound off if you plan to attend!
Anyone going to Dragon Con?

Re: Anyone going to Dragon Con?
2005 was to be my wife and I's first Dragon Con, instead, about a week beforehand we evacuated to Houston, because a whole lot of wind and water was coming to our city. As we watched New Orleans drown on TV for about a week, we still seriously considered going to Dragon Con anyway. I mean, what could we do? We had our memberships and hotel reservations, but because of all the uncertainty at the time, we decided not to go.Ancalagon wrote:http://www.dragoncon.org/

After writing Dragon Con and explaining our situation, they did not find it to be sufficient grounds to refund our memberships. Not even a partial refund.
So, f&%k 'em.
Not saying we'll never go, and in fact, we did briefly consider going last year, but the program for '06 was totally weak compared to '05, and we still had some hard feelings against the Con.

That's harsh.TheRedPriest wrote:After writing Dragon Con and explaining our situation, they did not find it to be sufficient grounds to refund our memberships. Not even a partial refund.

I haven't been to DragonCon since 1999, and would certainly like to attend again (though I'm not planning to, this year). I was at the first one, and enjoyed DC immensely each of the times I attended
What are you going to run, Angcagalon?

Fair enough.Ancalagon wrote:Maybe its harsh. Maybe not. Off the top of my head, I don't know what their policies for refunds are. I'm just trying to find out if anyone else plans to attend. Please start another thread for complaints. Thanks.
No, I'm not going.

I'll be running two sessions of AD&D. Use this link http://gaming.dragoncon.net/event_search.php and from the Game System drop down menu, click on AD&D 1st Edition (RPG) and click the adventure name, The IronCircle: Beyond the Icy Sea, for a description of the event.
