Wired Online Proposes D&D Reality show

Post by Lance Hawvermale »

In a pretty humorous social commentary piece, one of the Wired writers offers suggestions for a variety of geek-centric reality shows. Check out the last one on the list:

I rather like Geek Me Up. Don't undervalue the joy of snorting derisively.

I wonder if there would really be a market for a show with a bunch of people sitting around a table playing D&D (or Vampire, or whatever game is most in vogue). I can see people watching just to see what stupid decisions are being made by the players. It would be kind of like watching The Gamers, only with less of a plot. :P

It could be particularly interesting if they had to kill one PC each week until they finally crowned one D&D Champion.

Wait ... hot girls in bikinis playing D&D on TV. Or NFL Cheerleaders playing D&D on TV. That would have great ratings plus probably boost sales. "Oh, mister game master, which is the d8? Is it the green one?"
