Raven March: OSRIC game world sneak peek
Here.
Just a bmp captured from Campaign Cartographer 3... by no means a finished project, but a nice little look at the whole thing. A certain amount of focusing in will reveal details, but not to close.
Raven March supplement will concentrate on the eastern end of the northern continent.
This isn't an official OSRIC game world, rather a world compatible with OSRIC.
More soon... it's coming together fast.

Nice Semaj. I'm very interested in seeing what you do with this. The continent layout lends itself to many interesting possibilities as far as the development of societies on the planet.

Stephen Colbert: “What would you do, when coming up with your character you roll six rolls of three six-sided dice to come up with your character”
Joe Magliano: “There’s a new way now where you roll 4d6 and you take away the lowest.”
Stephen Colbert: “Really? That’s for children!”

Thanks, yeah, there are some interesting little corners. For instance, see the SW peninsula on the southern continent? You can't see it on this bmp, but that's a rainforest with a primitive culture guarding a giant crack in the ground referred to as "The Gates of Hell." I'll let you guess what goes on down there.

This is a really cool project, Semaj. I know we've talked about it before, and specifically I like the fact that you're going to do your campaign world "as is" without trying to make it more generic. The modules you're doing for XRP are from this world, yes?

Is there a point at which you're going to put the Raven March "Gazeteer" up on Lulu for people to get the finished product?

This is my plan of attack... I know it looks like a nail but it's actually a tack.Mythmere wrote:Is there a point at which you're going to put the Raven March "Gazeteer" up on Lulu for people to get the finished product?
Ok, poor humor aside...
1. Free PDF for the Raven March.
2. Not-so-free detailed PDF for all of Shiaar.
I'm working on 1 and 2 at the same time, and there's a method to my madness.
Maps included. I'm using CC3... which I recommend, btw, but apparently CC2 viewer, which is free, won't adequately render a CC3 drawing. Big hiccup in my plans, but no show stopper.
3. Later, a gazetteer for Shiaar available on LuLu or some similar avenue.
1 is on the verge of being finished... finally. 2 won't be too far behind.

They look sort of anagrammatic (is that a word? Semaj will know) to me.

Snag #435... I'm going to have to replace the CC3 symbols on the map with CC2 symbols in order for the whole thing to be viewed through the free CC2 viewer. That's really what I want... a map that can be expanded for detail.
That's a pity... the symbols for CC3 are nice and I really wanted to use them.
