Glgnfz, I remember the picture of your first hard cover you had made at DDs. :D Don't let that stop you though.

I got mine yesterday! I haven't had time for much more than a casual glance through the book but I liked what I saw. It definately had an old school feel to it. The art was very good and fell right in with the 1e feel. I'll have a more in depth look this weekend and then post my thoughts.

I haven't had enough time to more than glance at it. I'll let you know after I've had more time.

Are we going to see OSRIC products with MoM monsters in them?

If you mean OSRIC compatable I am sure we will. If you mean OSRIC official I am sure we won't.

I got the hardback and I like the look and feel of the book. The artwork is old-school and the monsters seem tight (I haven't checked out all the stats yet). All in all I think its a great work and will add some spice to my 1e campaign.

Thanks to all who made it happen!

I got mine today. I have to say, I wasn't expecting a lot of quality as far as binding, paper, cover etc. because I've heard these POD places just can't afford to produce really high quality bound books. I was excited about the content of the book but I was expecting to be unimpressed by the physical makeup.

I was oustandingly surprised at how nice this hardback book is. Honestly, it's at least as good in terms of physical construction as any book I've bought from a big name company* (like TSR, WotC, Games Workshop, etc.) in the last 20 years. As for the content.... dare I say it? It's essentially like holding an AD&D Monster Manual III in my hands. :D

BTW - I hadn't looked at the full .pdf since Axe submitted a bunch of the last minute artwork. I have to say they really add a lot to the book and I was very impressed with some of the pieces I hadn't seen yet. Great job dude!

*The only "problem" is that they gave me two page 5/6s. That in no way interferes with my enjoyment of the book (I suppose I could just rip one out if I really cared about it) but it did throw me for a few moments when I saw the pg. 5 illustration repeated back to back (were we THAT desperate for artwork? ).

I have learned that if it's slimy or fungusy or has tentacles or is insect-like, it was probably created by mythmere. :)
