But of course it's not Christmas yet. ;)

I thoroughly dislike the modern custom of "celebrating" Christmas from early December through Christmas Day. We actually see people putting their trees out on the curb before New Years'.

Christmas ends on the night of Jan. 5 (Twelfth Night) or, if you're really hard-core, on February 2 (Candlemas).

Some are out before noon Christmas Day.

The decorations about my home stay up until Twelfth Night, and on Jan. 6 (Epiphany/3 King's Day) we buy our first kingcake. Then it's a different kind of feasting until Ash Wednesday.

Merry Christmas, Joyous Yule, Happy Holidays, etc. depending on your religious faith or lack thereof. ;)

I prefer it when the bakery bakes the baby right into the cake.

In RL I celebrate Christmas from the day after Thanksgiving until "12 days after Christmas." Feasting, celebrating, giving, sharing and loving are all great things. I have never been able to talk my wife into going all the way to February 2 (Candlemas).

In my campaign worlds, each one has a full set of holidays with feasting and celebrations, although we don't burden the game down with excessive detail by any means, in campaigns running since 1971 things would get old without some variety to them and working cultural themes into the game has been a lot of fun for us.
