The review in Mojo gave it four stars and said it was pretty easily their best since Who's Next. (Of course, that's only four albums, with Quadrophenia the only one that's generally thought of as a "classic" Who album. They also don't say how it compares to the best of Townshend's solo work. I can't imagine it comparing favorably to Empty Glass, for example...)
I kind of wish they were releasing it as "Daughtry & Townshend" instead of "the Who." Moon and Entwistle weren't exactly incidental to the band's sound.
Still, I'll probably get the album.

I love The Who as well, but they haven't been the same since Moon died.
Still, I'll give this a listen.

When I was younger I had a Mod phase and Quadronphenia was one of my favorite albums (and still is). "Can you see the Real Me" was one of my teenage anthems. I even had the Who's first single before they were the Who. They were called the High Numbers (a Mod reference). I was very sad to hear about John's passing.

Well, goosebumps. Hoping it's good!
I first saw The Who in '68 at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago, when they debuted Tommy. Great concert, great venue (about 2K), LOUD and a mind blowing finale. After Pinball Wizard, they did the smashing instrument thing that left everyone completely stunned!
