I know the Bloodthirster you're speaking of. I'll see what I can find on my WHFB boards. It is a cool model.
And my favorite? That's tough: I like so many critters out there. My favorite "old school" minitures from back in the day would have to be . . . the ochre jelly miniture!

I think it was Grenadier. Just a blob of lead with what may have been a pearl-like eye at the bottom.
Right now some of my favorite monster minis would include the Reaper two-headed troll:
The GW Ushabti:
And Reaper's Demogorgon:

I was going to mention the Ral Partha Wereboar I painted, but then I saw PandP's post. The Jabberwock! How could I have forgotten that mini?

Yep, dat's da one. It's one baaad lookin' mutha!
Alright, guys - link to it if you're going to rave about it so much.

I don't have any good photos of the one my wife painted up for me, so here's what it looks like:
Note: They have changed him somewhat since I purchased one in 2000. I'll try to get some photos of the one my wife did for me.

He's changed alot more in the decade plus since I purchased him. I'll have to rustle up a digital camera and photograph the one I have. heh .. in all the years I've had him, I've never finished painting him.
As an aside, I never followed the GW painting guides. Never liked their lurid colors. I probably had the most chromatically subdued chaos army around.

Hehe, one of the reasons I play dwarfs. My colors are very earthy.
In the current edition (and to a lesser extent 6th ed as well) GW has drifted to a darker, more grim look to their game. Gone are the giant rainbow colored banners, the hot rod flames and checkers. Needless to say, many of the old schoolers of that system lament the change in style, but I for one enjoy the dirtier look.
