[OSRIC PR] The Old-School Gazette thread
Posted: Fri Oct 13, 2006 11:23 am
I'm going to use this thread to promote the Old-School Gazette series of small PDF products. I posted this over at Dragonsfoot and I'll post it also at delversdungeon. This way I can keep everything about the OSGs in one thread and not clutter.
So, what is the Old-School Gazette? The Old-School Gazette is a periodically released short PDF supplement line. Each issue of the Gazette will be approximately 5 pages long and contains information suitable for OSRIC compatible gaming. Monsters, magic items, spells, and unique campaign details will be featured in the Gazette. Each sells for $1.35.
The Old-School Gazette is open for short paid submissions, so send us your ideas/articles at josephbrowning@gmail.com. We only pay $0.01 a word, but we do pay quickly and have never had any complaints with any freelancers in our 4 years of business.
The Old-School Gazette is available at two online retailers, rpgnow.com and EnGamestore. The below two links will take you to our old-school gaming products section at the respective websites.

Here's a breakdown of the contents of each Old-School Gazette:
- #1: Our Free introductory issue. This Old-School Gazette gives you all the statistics you need to pit goblins, hobgoblins, kobolds, ogres and orcs against your players. Also, there are 6 new OSRIC compatible magic items associated with these common foes. To be honest, only the 6 new magic items will be of interest to grognards, but the inclusion of the monsters is the perfect way to inform less-knowledgeable readers what exactly OSRIC is for.
#2: Our first undead issue. This Old-School Gazette gives you all the statistics you need to pit black skeletons, bone sovereigns, dark voyeurs, and inscribers against your players. Also, there are 4 new magic items associated with these enemies.
#3: Our first spellbook-oriented issue. This Old-School Gazette gives you the statistics you need to guard the spellbooks of your magic users and illusionists. Also, there are 8 new magic security spells to surprise the unwary.
#4: Our first food and drink issue. This Old-School Gazette gives you the statistics you need to add some fun and excitement to traveling: food, drink and food-related items. What would a visit to a strange land be without equally strange food and drink?
#5: Our first tricks and traps issue. This Old-School Gazette gives you four brand-new tricks to test your player’s wits. Are they ready for the clock-statue of the red hall, the test of three, the dark pool, the jacob’s ladder and the rude spittoon? And yes, count the numbers: what's the use of an issue about tricks and traps without one in the sales text?
NEW! #6: Our first plant monster issue and the beginning of the tricks and traps installments by Matthew Finch. This Old-School Gazette gives you three brand-new tricks to test your player’s wits. Are they ready for the ceiling of clouds, the chasm painting, and the stone dog? But before that, 3 new plant monsters will test their abilities to the utmost. The addlevetch, the deadwood, and the suicide plant await discovery!
