A seperate tool is normally used to punch the leather. Oddly enough they are usually called punches. If the grommets are small, a large nail will do for spreading the leather enough. If not they do make a punch in a form much like a pair of pliers with several different sizes on it. Depending on where you buy it you can get one for about 10$. You can also purchase grommet punches in a more chisel like form with a hollow center and sharp edge.

Since I have retired from the SCA, I have a duffle full of garb, unfortunately all of the pants have been altered for a person with one leg or I would box it up and send it. I'd offer up my shirts but I can't part with them. They are just too comfortable-- I tend to still wear them when lounging about.

You know, a simnple thing to do is toss together a T-tunic and simple pair of britches. Footware can be as easy as sandles or a cheap pair of biker boots.

The one really nice recreation outfit I have I use as cold weather pajamas. Peasant pants and a matching tunic. Has about two yards too much cloth on it, lovely to wrap up on during the (rare) damp mornings it gets down into the 20's here in FL (it happens!)

The 20's, must be tough. I've already had several frosts in the morning this fall. Temps like that you could wear plate all year and not freeze.

Wearing plate here in the Florida summer is asking to be cooked alive! You only wear plate in the spring and fall unless you are a hard core masochist!

And I did manage to complete a 12,000 word manuscript to send off to Joe Browning. Whether he accepts it (no, it's not a module, guys, sorry) is another question, but at least I took a stab at funding the trip by writing something. Writing D&D stuff is a good way to pay for Renfair spending money.

EDIT: and now I've got the rest of today and friday to attempt P&P's recipe for a belt pouch.
