Day #3: The Caverns of Thracia by Jacquays. I'm referring to the original 1979 Judges Guild publication; I've never read any of the revised versions. This one is easily in my top 3 best modules of all time, and sometimes it's just plain #1 to me.

Day 3: S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks

Oh, and before anyone gets to Day 4: After some discussion yesterday, we agreed that anything you can come up with, regardless of the size of the adventure itself is fine. There just aren't a whole lot of options for that. I've heard Dungeon mag, had a few, 2e had a couple as did Judges Guild, and U3. I think I'll be choosing a Delta Green adventure myself.

I was keeping it D&D, and now happy to branch out. grodog's Masks pick for yesterday was killer. :)

Thanks Rob! :D I had no intention of sticking just to D&D for the Challenge, after Scot's initial comments suggested that other games were in-scope.

Day 3: L1 - The Secret of Bone Hill: describing way more than Bone Hill, the whole module is about places to go to and explore. It is a neat mini-campaign all by itself, and a good model to build your home setting.

Day #3 - Ravenloft by Tracy Hickman. My favorite module ever.

Day 1 Module from a Series

AD&D (and maybe an B and X here and there)
G1 Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
The beginning of Gygax's must-play Giants series.

OSRIC
AA23 Down the Shadowvein (XRP)
The follow-up to the excellent Pod-Caverns of the Sinister Shroom. The 2nd and 3rd modules in the series are designed in the same vast underground style as D2. Our group has explored a bit of this, but only scratched the surface.

Day 2 Module w/ Name of Monster

AD&D (and maybe an B and X here and there)
D2 Shrine of the Kuo-Toa
I think I like the name of this one even more than the module itself. I can still remember analyzing the map for the first time at age 8. Yeah, this was "Advanced".

OSRIC
AA1 Pod-Caverns of the Sinister Shroom (XRP)
A great name and a great low-level module. We played this over three sessions and it was excellent. We had a fun time afterward with some of the odd-ball magical items, too.

Day 3 Module w/ Name of Place

AD&D (and maybe an B and X here and there)
I1 Dwellers of the Forbidden City
We got some mileage out of this one in the 80s and maybe the 90s. But, we never played it anywhere close to its potential.

OSRIC
Watchtower on the Hill (Johnny Rook Games)
This a decent introductory module. I ran it after a TPK in another adventure. We rolled up some new characters, they didn't bring enough help, and promptly got TPKed again.
