A long time ago (not really, 15-20 years), in a galaxy . . . in this galaxy, I picked up the CDs of the SW:Radio Drama. I enjoyed it fairly well, but never found the ESB and RotJ ones.

Today, I found that they are on archive.org because they were broadcast on NPR.

It takes some time to get used to Brock Peters portrayal of Vader, but in the end, I think he does a bang up job. I could really see him doing that role in the films, even though James Earl Jones is iconic.

I'm also excited to hear John Lithgow do Yoda :D

Regardless, here are the links:

Select the VBR MP3 link on the right, then click on the link that indicates download of all files.

I'll be listening to this going to/from work over the coming weeks.

The voice actress for Leia is excellent. Vader and Han both take some getting used to, but they each do a really great, I daresay definitive, job with the roles. Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, of course, nail their parts.

Daley’s adaptation of the script is ridiculously good, especially of Star Wars. He plugs up damned near all the plot holes, and pads out the plot in a pitch-perfect and poignant way.

Don’t forget to listen to the “lost first chapter” of ESB:
Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell

Lithgow’s Yoda, I’m sorry to say, is pretty grating in ESB. He’s okay in RotJ.

After this, carry on with the unabridged audiobook of the original sequel, Heir to the Empire. 8)
