That was my experience too. I hoped that I would like it more on rewatches, but I actually liked it less.

thst battle in Snork's throne room is fucking horrid. Hercules and Xena had better fight choreography.

It is not the greatest by any means, and I have not watched it too closely, but I thought that scene was visually impressive in and of itself. The inexplicable defeat of Snoke (Yeah, I get it, "Your overconfidence is your weakness" "Your faith in your friends is yours") by a Kylo Ren who can suddenly hide his true intent from his master coupled with the grotesque and juvenile sight of Snoke's head with tongue extended, as if raspberrying us all, undermined everything that went on for me. That about sums this film up, though, it was all show and no substance.

So, I see they have announced the cast for episode IX. Luke and Leia will both feature, apparently, along with ... Richard E. Grant? Interesting. Apparently Billy Dee Williams will also be reprising his role as Lando.

Rumours that Rian Johnson's prospective new trilogy of Star Wars films has been quietly dropped are apparently growing in credibility.

Star Wars: Episode IX has started production and added Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, and Dominic Monaghan to the already established cast of returning players. Now, a former Time Lord may be joining them for the finale of the Skywalker Saga.

Variety is reporting Matt Smith has been cast in Episode IX, but his role is currently unknown. Smith could be a member of the Resistance; he certainly had plenty of experience playing a hero during his Doctor Who tenure. However, Smith did portray Skynet in Terminator Genisys, so we can’t rule out a villainous turn as an officer in the First Order. Alternately, Smith’s character could be someone who remains neutral in the intergalactic conflict.

Smith's accent? He's definitely a baddie. I hope he's that Doctor of War turned up to 11. I wasn't a big fan of the war doctor, but this is Star Wars.

That, or he's got some Daniel Craig type secret cameo.

So this is saying that this Smith guy could be a good guy, or a bad guy, or even a neutral character. I'm glad they cleared that up!

The most important thing is making sure they maintain the tradition of British accents in space. You know, for verisimilitude.
