I've tried and used most of the commercially available mapping software. I currently use Inkwell Ideas Dungeonographer and Hexographer programs. They've come leaps and bounds in the past several years, and they're still a little wonky in the interface to my mind, but they work well and create nice looking maps (I use blue and white classic symbols, and classic hex styles reminiscent of the heyday of TSR) FWIW.
