I probably have not seen everything he's done, but I've never seen him in something I did not like.

I'm more sad about this than most celebrity deaths, even though he obviously had a very long and full life. I saw him in person just last year, introducing a screening of Paris, Texas (which I hesitate to recommend here because it's very slow-paced and self-consciously arty, but if you give yourself over to it is also totally moving and beautiful, and one of my all-time favorite movies) held in celebration of his 90th birthday. Safe travels into the great beyond, Harry.

Paris, Texas is one of those movies I've always wanted to watch, but never got around to it. I'll add it to my Netflix queue.
