Re: Floridians
As it stands now, south Florida, Keys and Miami, are going to get the worst of it, by the time it hits Orlando it should have hopefully degraded some, then by the time it hits up here near Jacksonville it should, be down to a CAT 1 or at the worse CAT 2. Last year Matthew hit us at CAT 3 and it wasn't too much to worry with, but you never know.

Re: Floridians
I hope that the winds continue to slow. What I heard that is concerning is the size of the hurricane and that they believe it will be travelling up the west coast of Florida and not the east. It is really hard to tell what are accurate predictions and what is hype from the news.Cloak n' Dagger wrote:As it stands now, south Florida, Keys and Miami, are going to get the worst of it, by the time it hits Orlando it should have hopefully degraded some, then by the time it hits up here near Jacksonville it should, be down to a CAT 1 or at the worse CAT 2. You and all of us, Jason. Right now the house is boarded up here in Central Florida, but the Weather Channel is saying 50mph winds on Monday, decreasing into Tuesday. That's the kind of "storm" I can put up with...!JasonZavoda wrote:I hope that the winds continue to slow. I'm a little pissed off at Amazon. First of the week we ordered a few things we needed yet (a camp stove, a trio of Coleman LED lanterns) and nothing arrived except for the cedar fuel pucks for the camp stove x-(
Thank God we probably won't need 'em this time!
Re: Floridians
Thanks for all the expressions of concern for those of us in the path of this storm. I'm in the middle of Georgia (Macon) so Monday night is looking rough. Still compared to Florida, I feel fortunate.
Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.
Re: Floridians
Glad to hear that it might hit at less than the record-breaking level forecast. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

Re: Floridians
Its bad right now. I can hear damage being done to the house due to the winds but right now I can't observe it except for the eaves on the front of the building which have been severely damaged. We're still in the middle of the worst of it.

Re: Floridians
St. Augustine got hit hard, lots of flooding, hopefully Stonegiant and Chainsaw's brother aren't in the midst of that. My area is pretty good just north of Jacksonville, our house took no damage or flooding, power has been out since 10pm last night, just waiting for that to come back on and we should be back to normal.
Re: Floridians
Hope Stonegiant can post soon, but I know that's also the last thing on his mind right now even if everything is as good for him as it can be. I'm glad to hear from the Floridian K&KAers that have posted so far - keep safe!

Re: Floridians
No power here at the hotel. Otherwise we're good. Got pictures of my house. Again no flooding or wind damage I can see. Despite being close to the ocean. Waiting right now for the bridges to be inspected so they can be opened. That's two hurricanes that I got lucky and dodged a bullet.
I want to hear what you did in the dungeon, not the voting booth. Politics and rules minutia both bore me in my opinion.
