Re: NTRPG Con X (2018)
Steve, Chris, and anyone else interested: this was Doug's reply to my Q about kids badges on FB:Steve wrote:Last year I e-mailed Doug, and had me create accounts for my kids who got in for free, since they were only going to play in the one D&D kids' game. IIRC, if your kids are going to play in more than one game, he said I would need to buy tickets for them.grodog wrote:I'm not sure either. I think the last sets of kids games were before NTX moved over to TableTop.Events, so that seems like a Q for Doug and Mike on the FB group. I'll add it to my thread there about kids events.Flambeaux wrote:Allan, I have at least 2 who'd be interested in Henry's game -- I'm not sure how to register them since they won't have Con badges.
Allan.
Allan.I usually do kids like this, 12 and under don't need a badge IF they are ONLY coming on Saturday to play in the Kids only Game (or whatever day there might be a kids only game)... but if they plan on attending other games at the Con over the weekend, they need a badge. This also means they don't get a backpack/dice bag etc unless they buy a badge. (Mom/Dad can give theirs up)

Then I'll do something Saturday morning/afternoon.Welleran wrote:If you do anything Saturday morning/afternoon, my brother and I are interested!EOTB wrote:If anyone's stuck with empty slots or games they're not that excited about, I can run a more campaign-like game over the weekend
Edit - I can also do something on Friday if enough people want to run off grid

I see. Thank you, that was most helpful.Jeff wrote:Yes, drinks and snacks are OK. Obviously, you don't want to have snacks splayed all over the game table. I usually have snacks in a backpack that I lug around.Ratbreath wrote:I might be up for a Sunday morning game if someone wants to run something.
I have questions about protocol. Is it okay to bring drinks and snacks to the table?
What about a dice bag and a PH?
Are the games normally played with minis?
Dice and PH are expected for players when possible. Certainly dice.
Minis are dependent on the DM, but I haven't seen them used a lot. Every game table has a wet erase mat with markers, which the DM can opt to use for drawing out areas.
There are convention employees who will walk around taking orders for snacks and meals during games too, and it's not uncommon for people to eat a dinner or lunch during a game. In the current convention location, there isn't much in the way of food, so you'll want to bring some extra $$$ for eating at the hotel restaurant. Meals are about $10 a plate, IIRC, which is a discounted rate for convention attendees. There's a Denny's across the street and a local gas station right across the street too, which is good for soda and/or snacks.

Less than 4 weeks to go!
Please do, I'm still looking for a Friday daytime and Saturday evening game to join.EOTB wrote:Edit - I can also do something on Friday if enough people want to run off grid

Re: NTRPG Con X (2018)
I get in in the afternoon, so I'm thinking probably right after I have dinner. Maybe 7pm-ish? I'm fairly flexible.
Re: NTRPG Con X (2018)
I may swing by Wednesday evening since I'm already in the area and unemployed.
