Another format rev for feedback...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B79Wm_ ... sp=sharing

This version:
- removes the per-item encumbrance annotations (except where necessary — see a couple of the Money & Treasure items)
- rearranges the weapon details so the weapon stat order matches the order of use: pre-attack roll stuff (spd, rof, range), then to hit mods, then damage.
- separates the spd/rof/rng details from the weapon type, which hopefully reduces how busy the sheet looks
- eliminates the lines between the weapon vs. ac mods (ditto)
- shrinks the font size for some of the weapon stats (ditto)

The rearrangement of the info in the weapon section is good, but I think removing the column separators in the weapon vs AC section makes it harder to use, especially for characters with multiple weapons.

It's also odd and confusing that the weapon vs AC chart goes in the opposite direction than the combat chart immediately above it. For ease of use those columns should line up with each other - you see what you need to roll to hit AC 4, then you follow that column down to see what your adjustment is against AC 4 for the weapon you're using.

Makes sense. Here are a couple new options:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B79Wm_ ... sp=sharing

- The monk sheet has vertical gray bars on every other column for that section; I think it looks nicer, but it draws the eye strongly to that area, which not everybody will use. It may detract from peoples ability to notice the other important stuff on each line.
- The fighter sheet uses vertical lines between columns. It looks busier IMO, but is probably more functional.

Facinating.

I hadn't really thought of using the table that way. I don't bother checking the combat table until after I roll. For me, there's no point knowing what number I need until after I see the roll. If I roll a 1 or 2, or a 20, I already know the outcome.

But you make a good point about having the ACs in the two tables match ascending/descending-wise.

I wonder how much lining them up matters, though, given the difference between armor type (for weapon vs. AC) and armor class (for the combat table).

Yet another test layout, which:
- flips the order of the Weapon vs. AC modifiers to match the Combat Table
- aligns the Weapon vs. AC modifiers to the same Combat Table entries
- adds a visual on the combat table to help folks that prefer THAC0
- eliminates the vertical line between the equipment and thief/spells sections, because it looked bad with the re-jiggered weapon/attack table

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B79Wm_ ... sp=sharing

This might be the final layout, unless somebody can find a glaring issue

the only thing that stick out at me is the saving throws. I'd prefer the category followed by the number.

That makes sense, yeah. I'll make that tweak.

Yeah, with Francisca's mod to the saving throw section I think you've got a winner of a format.

I updated my pregens, Guy:

- my standard crew of 7th-9th AD&D pregens (15): http://www.greyhawkonline.com/grodog/te ... -level.zip
- my high-level 10-14th pregens (these are based on the G/D tourney PCs, but I've modified them and added some more PCs to bring the total to 15): http://www.greyhawkonline.com/grodog/te ... -level.zip
- the straight G1-3/D1-2 pregens (12 of them) are still @ http://www.greyhawkonline.com/grodog/te ... on2007.zip
- Moldvay's Seren Ironhand pregens (3rd-5th level, knocked down a level for The Mordandir Company; 7 by Moldvay, with an 8th added by me as an alt PC) @ http://www.greyhawkonline.com/grodog/te ... oldvay.zip

I have some G/D pregens, too, but they need to be cleaned up.
Gotta admit Rich, I like the way you modified the dwarf's name. Very nice. Always wanted to do it myself. ;)
