Got some "Book of Souls" jamming, and I'm about to crack this open. Anyone try it yet?
No, but I really want to try that! Was it good?

It was solid, and very much a porter, which is a good thing in my book. Most porters I've been having lately have had others flavors tossed in, but this one was straight up. I liked it.

My fifth (sixth?) bee sting of the day at the Maryland Renaissance Faire. Good day and excellent sights to see.

Tonight was our 2016 Call of Cthulhu game. The beverages were Pumking Ale, Andygator and Berenjager. The scenario was the oldie but goodie,
Spirits Over Arkham. In recent years, I gave them a Universal Pictures Monster Movie Cthulhu, a Weird Western Cthulhu and a 21st Century Delta Green. I thought it was time to return to Cthulhu's '20s roots.

Something else for the gaming table, perhaps. The better-half flew back east for a wedding last week and brought this back for me (she's a keeper). It says it's an IPA, but it just tastes like any other lager. However, the can is righteous. There's a nice HPL bio on the back and a supposed excerpt from The White Ship, but I think it's just a fan piece:
"Past the dying dreams of Zar, the mysterious city of Thaiarion, and the sickening tease of Xura - the White Ship sailed on. The beauty, bliss, and gentle seas of Sona-Nyl beckoned our hearts to lay in its rolling pastures for all of eternity, but our greed pushed our sails past the heavens and into the unknown. The oarsmen pulled us through thick mist and fierce winds, searching for the mythic shores of Cathuria. When the mist lifted, the White Ship glided over hazy seas of gold topped with plentiful white caps. Just as the scent of spice and grapefruit filled our minds, all went black."
It's apparently a line of HPL tribute beers from Narragansett Brewing.

Wow, I haven't posted here in awhile. You all must have thought I've fallen off the wagon.
"Eyes of the World" bourbon barrel aged cherrywood smoked porter. Beer, bourbon, and BBQ all in one bottle. Nice!

Lucked into some more rare beers last night, it's going to be a good winter!

Love it, Welleran! A little scotch and a pipe sounds really nice right now! May have to follow your lead.
