INFJ - The Protector. The description is pretty spot on. I may have taken this test before, but I don't recall when or what I was rated as the last time. I've definitely changed in the last 5 years, and most of it has been out of self-preservation.

At least the test was spot on about the creative & artistic bits. At least I've got that going for me.

For one of the most rare of the personality types rated by this test, there seems to be a higher than normal amount here than in Real Life.

But I guess without the internet, I'm out int he Real World more often this summer than I usually am, if I had internet at my place again.

An introvert friend sent me a link about the superiority of introverts (since most of you fall into that category here, thought you might relate). Its about 15 minutes. Makes some damned good points about the stupidity of "group think" forced on introverts in schools and in offices. One more way to dumb everyone down I suppose.

My wife is an INFJ. Great people for the most part Bob. Its interesting that my Myers Briggs ENTP is the perfect friend or spouse match for INFJ (which is 1% of the general population, so in theory you gotta look a long time to find one). Most of my friends are also introverted and intuitive (which make for imaginative types). I consistently turn out border line so a lot of introvert in me too I guess.

Sorry for the long wait for an answer, Axe. (I had a helluva time talking the tombstone company from inscribing "I told you I was sick!" on my tombstone. Yes, I was sick, but not THAT sick...)

I had to look up ENTP, and some of that describes me a bit, but only when I've had ample time to sharpen up my wit for snappy comebacks in conversations, and then it only works when I engage in conversations with like-minded individuals (which is nearly at a null value where I live & work...), but most of those conversations end when these numb-wits can't figure out my easy puns, seques, or any other diagonal thoughts.

I am also an idea-man (which is a non-starter here, since most of us are, in one way or other "idea-men"). I start many, many projects and rarely finish them. It is a "chore" for me to slog through the details. I suppose I'd make a half-assed writer if I could get past the plot devices I've written down and actually spend time developing stories and such. The same goes for game/campaign design. I love fiddling with rules to set up new races & classes, but I really suck at setting up static encounters (like the modules always do...), but once the game starts, I'm really good at ad-libbing & going where the rest of the players want the game to go.

Anyhoo, its a good feeling to know there are others out there that see life through the same set of lenses I do. Heh!

I got my Harry Potter movies fix for the year; I watch HP every Christmas & LotR every Thanksgiving. I thought David Thewlis made a good Lupin, and I really didn't have a problem with any of the casting at all. I only wish that their was more of the books in the movies. Unfortunately, I only have the last one, which I re-read after watching the Deathly Hallows parts I & II.

Oh, that reminds me; since I don't have all the books, I need to find a wiki that explains which characters belonged to which house...

I think my distaste was more for the movie (terrible director, goofy action, could easily be mistaken for The Hobbit 1) then the actor (though he's just not how I pictured him when I read the book). Same with Serious Black. David Thewlis is someone I'm not familiar with, I'll need to look him up. But in the HP 3 and later he's got the energy level and screen presence of a newt.

I had the advantage of having a significant waiting period between reading the book and watching the movie, and I only read each of the books once. I didn't have any problems with the differences between the HP books & the movies, as JK Rowling was involved with the screen-writing of every movie. If the director or writers wanted to change something, they had to go through Rowling to do it, so they would not contradict anything she'd write later (as some of the movies came out before she was done writing the series).

Unlike the Hobbit "Deviation of Smaug" movie... Apparently Jackson never counted on anyone in the theatres to have actually read the book.
