For drawing in general, I can not recommend these books enough. They are out of print, but PDFs live on in the internet. At least one of the links under each book title work. Enjoy. (and don't give up! :) )

Thanks everyone for your replies. Even for the Star Trek roundabout :) I have gotten 4 confirm emails of willing participants. The game is on. Oh, I did forget to mention one funny thing at the rpg meetup. One guy walked by, read my flier, and made whimpering noises that the "DC" was too hard for 1s...

Now I've Done It!

In the spirit of the new year. Less bitching, more action! I went to a local game store for a gamers meetup, and pitched running an AD&D campaign set in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy. I felt a little out of place considering what other folks already had going on and what some of them were trying t...

Thanks everyone for your responses. I am looking for inspiration for designing a cross-planar dungeon.

I do have access to the Dragon archive. Are there any Dragon articles that you recall that had good Planes material?

The Planes

Hi everyone, In the past I never put a lot of thought in to the multiple planes of existence, other than what is presented in the DMG. I am now thinking about it more, and am wondering what published resources are worth getting. The most obvious (or maybe not), how do you folks review "Manual of the...

DM'ing a Saturday AD&D game. Just started a Wilderlands campaign, and somehow Castle Zagyg found its way there right on the River Stilling. We'll see how it goes. Also jumped in to an online game of Encounter Critical which so far is a hoot.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Cheers.

I agree with Semaj Khan. I opened this thread and "Woa!". Definitely got a reaction out of me.

Mind if I use this pic to help my players become even more surprised when they turn that corner?

Great work!

Much as I love David Byrne, I prefer the following: There's nothing in the street Looks any different to me And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye And the parting on the left Is now the parting on the right And the beards have all grown longer overnight ... Meet the new boss Same as the old boss I...

Thanks Stormcrow for pointing me to SS&D's EULA. I like that product. Guess I should include him in my prayers now. How intrusive! ;)

Thanks everyone for your responses. I forgot about Yahoo Groups, and after looking at it, I think I will go that route. It is a nice mix of privacy, media sharing, and a mailing list.

Casey777, thanks for those links. I am technically inclined, and like to learn about what's out there.

Blog as Campaign Tool

Hi everyone, I am starting a campaign this weekend with my local gaming group and was contemplating using one of the free blog services as a means to communicate to my players and as a campaign journal. I know some of you folks keep a blog and are familiar with them. I on the otherhand have no first...

Thanks Mike D.! I made my way to Dr. No's after work today. A fine store. A healthy mix of games and comics. Unfortunately, they did not have what I was looking for, "Wilderlands of High Fantasy" box set. But, they did have a bunch of "Role Aids" for peanuts, which brought back some memories. I boug...
