I started following TLE but then it seemed like any information provided by it was peripheral to what was happening on the Island.

Given the etymological roots of Friar (i.e. frater or rather, brother ) it's no big deal, but suffice to say he would...

Ah, then what we need is an OSRIC supplement detailing various guilds complete with level titles. ;)

dcs, I just watched the episode last night where Merriam gets married to Robin the ceremony is perfromed by no other then Hern the Hunter (with antlers on and all) and Friar tuck (already part of the group by this point) isn't around. Now that's even more bizarre. I realize that Robin Hood isn't an...

Good news about Bottle City -- both the Limited Edition and the Standard Edition will be released as book-bound products (instead of being enclosed in a zip-lock bag, for example).

Druidism and sorcery in Robin Hood? How bizarre. Friar Tuck would burn every one of them at the stake!!

Give me Howard Pyle any day.

I think it's important for AD&D players to read Lejendary Adventure so they can see what Gary's perception of a character "class" really is. It's something like a mediaeval guild . I imagine that level titles are used internally within the guild (so, for example, that M-Us would identify each to the...

You might find Dava Sobel's book about Galileo and his daughter (Galileo's Daughter) interesting. :)

IIRC, Solomoriah's "Basic Fantasy" wouldn't be appropriate if you wanted to sell something for profit.

I like mine cold but not ice cold. Maybe 50° F or thereabouts.

I don't like the practice of keeping beer glasses in the freezer. Someone did that to me once with a pint of Guinness!
