Re: Starting higher then first.

As a player, I usually like to begin at the beginning.

Re: Bad DMing

Yeah, pretty much same advice. Just let the players know you got it wrong and would like to re-do the combat. If you've let too much time go by, there's still nothing wrong with admitting you made a mistake.

Re: Transforming into a ghoul after being killed.

Yeah, on reflection, I don't think one round is going to do it, and even one turn might be too soon. I would probably default to one day, as per the vampire. Or perhaps, 1d6+6 hours might not be unreasonable, if you're looking for something quicker. I was looking at the Olive slime in the MM2, and i...

Re: Transforming into a ghoul after being killed.

Interesting question. Flicking through the MM undead, only relevant information which I can see is detailed under the Vampire: "Any human or humanoid drained of all life energy by a vampire becomes an appropriately strengthened vampire under control of its slayer. This transformation takes place 1 d...

Re: Something's fishy

Instead of making the spear bigger, you could decorate it with some carvings or runes? Maybe create a bit of counter-focus to the Shark, which is more detailed and has big sharp teeth!

Re: When did you really fall for fantasy (ghul's click)

The first film I ever saw at the Cinema was The Dark Crystal at age 6. Around the same time, I was absolutely fascinated by this Saturday morning cartoon show. Unfortunately it coincided with the weekly soccer game, so I generally missed it and never actually found out until later that it was the D&...

It'd be an honour! Someday!
Actually, I did like the woodland dwarf in Three hearts, and Three lions too.

Re: Which do you prefer, CGI vs Stop Animation

Fantastic Mr Fox is a good one. Best movie I can show to a bunch of language learners is still Princess Bride. I think Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Up, and Fantastic Mr Fox are the next best. They like Willow, but it's kind of long.

Re: New PC races

Mudguard, all this new stuff will be labelled as optional. I don't imagine that anyone will like everything in Dangerous Dungeons; it'll be a toolkit. Or a supermarket from which DMs will select ingredients for their campaigns. No problem checking out the produce, though I only know how to cook bol...

Re: New PC races

I liked the subraces for humans which you posted P&P, but I don't really see the need for a whole bunch of extra demi-human races. I liked Three hearts and Three Lions where the elves were the adversaries. Perhaps allow a rebellious elf as a race sometimes, but no need to go much further. YMMV, ETC,

I am too weirded out by Axemental's change of avatar to post a thoughtful comment.
